KUALA LUMPUR, May 17 : The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) conducted a raid at a private residence of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak at a luxury condominium in Jalan Raja Chulan, here tonight.
Bukit Aman Commercial CID director Datuk Seri Amar Singh Ishar Singh when contacted by Bernama confirmed the matter.

“I can only confirm that we are carrying out a raid here, any progress will be announced later,” he said.

Najib and Rosmah have been blacklisted by the Immigration Department, and cannot leave the country.

Last Tuesday, Dr Mahathir said he expected charges to be filed against Najib following investigations into allegations against the former prime minister over the removal of hundreds of millions of US dollars from the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) fund.

Meanwhile, why is former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak being treated like a criminal, said Federal Territories Umno Youth chief Datuk Mohd Razlan Muhammad Rafii.

“Everyone is fighting for justice and to imprison him if he is guilty. But I don’t see any charges filed against him,” he said when speaking to reporters in front of Najib’s Taman Duta home on Thursday (May 17).

He said that certain privileges should be accorded to Najib.

“He isn’t a criminal. No charges have been brought against him,” said Mohd Razlan.
